In this session we were tasked with using our previous images to create advertisements for our favourite brands. I struggled with this task because I felt like my images didn’t match my brand I had in mind and that they weren’t advertisement worthy. I wished that I took more images that were generic and without a theme so that I could apply to any brand. Because all my images were different and didn’t match any brands I personally like, I had to challenge myself and be more creative. I spent so long going through my images and editing them to create some ads. Looking back, I feel like my editing could’ve been a bit more complex and unique as I felt that they looked a bit basic. I think that I was just so uninspired by my images that I couldn’t edit them in a way that satisfied me. My favourite advertisement I created was the Heaven Can Wait ad because I was inspired by the Celine ad I saw during class. I loved the solid background and the cut out images so I decided to incorporate that element into my work.
