During this session we were tasked with shooting and editing a video that promotes our customised shoes. I was excited about this even though I am not really good at editing videos. I love editing photos, but when it comes to videos I am not that great. I think that this has to do with my lack of experience with video editing and also because I do not enjoy video editing as much as I enjoy editing pictures. What I loved about this session was the creative thought process. I walked around the LCF campus and thought about what scenery I could use to film. I also thought about different ways in which I could promote my shoe. When I came up with the outline of my video idea, my friend and classmate Bell helped me film.
I had a certain vision as to how I wanted the video to turn out however as I mentioned earlier, video editing is not my strength. It was a challenge for me to edit the video and it was time consuming. I made many mistakes along the way and I eventually discarded my video and restarted. Looking back I wish I filmed some more footage in different backgrounds and angles as I felt that a lot of the footage I filmed was all the same. I enjoyed playing around with filters and making the video saturated like how my artist Heather Phillipson has very bright coloured work. In the end I was happy with how my video turned out even though it was a very simple video.
